Ivory Coast – Abidjan Autonomous District – Informal Settlements Profiling and Response Policy

A city-wide study conducted within the limits of the Autonomous District of Abidjan (population:7 million): Diagnosis and typology of informal settlements, geolocation and cross-referencing of physical, socioeconomic and legal/administrative data (SIG Quartiers Précaires). Work carried out in close coordination with DMISSA (MCLU), manager of SIGFU and the Urban Database for Greater Abidjan. Definition of an operational strategy for intervention in these neighborhoods and anticipation on their extension, in coordination with the DARU (Department in charge of urban renewal) and the DAA (Autonomous District of Abidjan). Preparation of land and real estate development plans and preliminary design in three pilot neighborhoods.
